And it is that time of year again. The Juco World Series. Unlike the last few where we have had a total break down for every team from every division this year, there was not as much as there was before so we do not have a full break for division 2 and the division 3 teams. We will have our pre-season predictions and a Computer bracket and staff brackets but other than that the time did not happen this year and for that we are sorry.

Season Notes:

Walters state has been a fixture in Grand Junction over the last few years. This year is no question why they are here again. They have been the #1 ranked team for the majority of the season and have not let their foot off the gas one bit.

With arguably one of the best starting rotations in the country at any level. Between the duo of Kohl Drake and Jake Knapp, they are 28-1, with 261 K, 6 SO, and 8 CG.

Walters State has been right on the cusp of winning a national title for the last few years and this year could be one of their best shots to finally get over that hump.

Season Notes:

Harford has been a power for the past few years but has fallen just short of the trip to Grand Junction.

This year when they started out there were a few questions that needed to be answered and they did so early. They slowly worked their way up the rankings and settled at #10 a few weeks before the season ended.

Now we were the only ranking that had them that high and so far the owls have proved that they should be there. As a team this year they are hitting a slash line of .347 (14th)/.495 (3rd)/.622 (4th), With 545 Hits to go along with that which is ranked 3rd overall. They have 130 Doubles as a team and 95 Home runs which is ranked 8th in the country. They have the most walks with 429, as well as driving in the 5th most runs with 522.

If anything is going to be certain is that the bats are going to shine in the Colorado mountains with the thin air.

Season Notes:

Back to Back Trips to Grand Junction. Started the Year as the #1 Team in the Country. What else is there to say? Well alot. San Jac started the year off with one of the toughest schedules in the country. Despite having a tough go of it they got out of it and kept going. They played a very tough conf schedule that came down to the final day of the regular season to decide who would be the #1 seed and ended up playing that same team (Alvin) in the Regional Finals again.

San Jac has the offense that will be there, but the 3 headed beast that is their pitching rotation is going to be their bright spot. With the number of high-end bats that are going to be there in Colorado, if these pitchers can do what they have done all season then the Gators look poised to finally end up on top after all these years.

Season Notes

Can this finally be the year that Coach Fornier gets the title that has illuded him over all these years. I mean, he was already going to be in Grand Junction for the Hall of Fame Induction so why not take the whole team along with him.

This year Wabash Valley team is a solid mix of both pitching and hitting. From Mr. Consistent Jon Hogart who put his foot on the gas to start the season and has not let up. To the combo of Jacob Bimbii and Josh Timmerman on the mound, they have been lights out on the mound for them. Wabash is coming in with that chip on their shoulder.

Season Notes:

There had not been a more consistent team coming out of Kansas then Cowley the last few years. They have punched tickets to Grand Junction in 5 of the last 10 years including this year (2021, 2019, 2017, and 2016).

This year’s team is much like the rest… good… They are hitting a team slash line of .324/.446/.501, with 135 Doubles (9th), 9 Triples, and 58 Home runs. On the mound, they have a team ERA of 4.15 with a team Against Average of .229.

Cowley may not be the flashiest team that is in Grand Junction this next week but they are going to come in with more experience than most playing in this kind of environment.

Season Notes:

Well, would you look at this? When we looked at the state of Alabama to start the year there were a handful of teams that looked to be the top dogs. Well, Snead State was right in that mix. They made it through beating who we thought would be the eventual winner in Wallace-Dothan. So good for you guys proving us wrong we are 100% here for that!

From the looks of it Snead is going to e a team that is sneaky. They have one of the Quieter Records that has been going on the season. They never broke into the top 25 for us but were as high as 30 at one point.

Snead has a solid mix of pitching and hitting that makes them an interesting team to have to play. They have a team slash line of .330/.456/.514. To go along with a Team era of 5.03 and a team against Batting average of .285.

Season Notes

Unfortunately when you are trying to pick who is going to be a winner of a district in the pre-season more than often predictions are going to be wrong. And in the state of Florida, we were WAY wrong.

Central Florida Started the year off a bit slow but found the gas pedal. They have lost 2 games since the middle of March.

As a team this season they are ranked 1st in the country in At-Bats with just north of 2000, They are 3rd in hits, 8th in Doubles, 9th in Home Runs, 3rd in RBIs, 2nd in Total Bases, and 6th in Walks. They have a team slash line of .330/.440/.546.  On the mound, they have a team ERA of 4.79.

Season Notes:

Crowder has been a team that has been in Grand Junction the last few years that has fallen just short. When it came time. This year’s team seems to be loaded and ready to compete. Now that is said about almost all the teams in this field but Crowder has been here the last few years and is looking to take home the national title to Missouri.

So Crowder could arguably have the top offensive team in the country this year. They are 4th in at-bats with 1978, 4th in runs with 594, 7th in Hits with 658, 4th in Doubles with 151, 244th in triples with 24, 22nd in home runs with 75, 3rd in RBIs, with 556, 4th in Extra base hits with 249, 8th in total bases with 1080, and are 2nd in walks with 382.

Not to be outdone is their pitching staff. They have a staff era of .4.40 with a batting avg against of .251.

Season Notes:

There looks to be a chance for the first Repeat National champs since Chipola did it back in 2017 and 218. Before that the last time there was a repeat national champ was back in 1999 and 200 when Region 5 rival Grayson won back-to-back championships.

McLennan looks to have some strong pieces back from last year’s team but also has new pieces that have all played a huge role in how the season has gone for them.

Season Notes:

Over the last few years Central Arizona has been the staple that has come out of the West. After winning the whole thing back in 2019, they going for their 3rd straight year out of the west.

When you look at the teams that come out of the west the numbers do not tell the whole story. First off as we say anytime we talk about the wst they use wood bats until they get to the postseason. So pitching numbers are up a bit and hitting numbers are a bit lower than in other parts of the country.

Central has 2 guys that have double-digit homers this year which is abnormal for a team from the west. They have pitchers with low ERAs and High Strikeout numbers. Like the last few years look for central to come out swinging and make alot of noise.
