For the first time in a long time, there will be a new top dog in the South Central District. With Tyler and Coastal Bend making the jump to the Division one level this district just got a lot more wide open. The last time there were back-to-back winners of this district that was not Tyler was back in the 2000s when Richland won back-to-back titles in 2008 and 2009 and then 4 straight from 2002-2005, with 3 National Tiles from 2002-2004.
To say this is wide open might be an understatement. Like a lot of Division 3, Junior College baseball teams many might think that the talent is not there but let us tell you that is not the case. Especially in the Dallas Area. All of the Dallas teams when at the Tx/Nm All-Star Game this past fall had guys that were competing with the best of the best at the division one level that was there.
This District is going to be very fun to watch and see how things unfold this year.
