The East has been one of the more interesting and underappreciated districts over the last few years. Monroe had a stretch in 2018 and 2019 where they won back-to-back titles. Florence Darlington has 2 Titles in the last 5 years. Outside of that they also have had a team represented in the National Title in over 30 years. Yes, 30 years when Essex beat Pima 14-1 back on May 30th, 1992. So to say that this is due for a National Title appearance is an understatement.
This year looks to be a year where it could be anyone’s game again. Harford has a ton of bats, Florence has a mix of bats and arms, Potomac state is loaded up again, both Louisburg and Spartanburg Methodist are locked and loaded.
At this point, there does not seem to be anyone that is making it look like they are a clear-cut front-runner to take home the East District Title.
