This district like many at the Division 2 level has not had a national title in a long time. The last winner from this district was before our records could find and the last time a team played in the national title was in 2010 when UConn Avery Point played LSU-Eunice, who won their 3rd in 5 years that year.
That though does not mean that the talent is not there. Mercer County is always a threat and would have been a big-time post-season team last year if it wasn’t for them not competing in post-season play due to school policies in regards to the pandemic. Lackawanna looks to have all the speed anyone team could ask from with tons of guys running in the 6’s. In the rest of this district, there is not much we can say other than don’t sleep on any team that is in it. Northeast Baseball does not always get the credit that it deserves but it is always going to be good.
For Some Districts, This just happens to be the first one with this situation, we do not have enough to do a full team of guys. But we will have a pre-season pitcher and Player of the year.
