#1 Cumberland County at #3 Northampton

Any time you have a top 10 match up it is easy to pick which series will be the series of the week regardless of the level. They will play a doubleheader saturday at Northampton starting at 12 with the second game to follow after.

Coming into this series Cumberland has been on a tear. Jumping into the #1 spot this past weekend in the Top 25 as well as riding a 22-Game win streak where they have beaten teams like Camden County (twice), Ocean County (twice), Atlantic Cape (twice), Middlesex County (twice), and Rowan Gloucester all who were ranked when they played. To go along with this Cumberlands is one of the top offensive teams in the country. They are currently ranked in the Top 10 in Triples (10th), Hits (8th), Doubles (7th), Extra Base Hits (5th), Total Bases (5th), Home Runs (3rd), and Hit by Pitches (1st). Leading that offense for them this season has been the trio of Vincent Napolitano, Ryan McIsaac, and Dylan Scaranda. (all three are uncommitted and in the Top 250). Napolitano is one of the sluggers in the country so far this season. He is hitting .337 with 7 doubles, 1 triple 8 home runs which is 6th in the country. With 32 RBI’s 31 runs, a .390 On Base % and a .684 Slugging %. McIssaac is one of the top, if not the top, run producer in the country. He is hitting .436 with 51 hits (10th), 10 Doubles, 5 Triples (4th), 6 Homers, 41 RBIs (11th), 52 Runs (1st), with a .518 On Base %, and a .761 Slugging %. Finishing out the trio is Scaranda. He is currently hitting .500 (7th), with 50 Hits (11th), 12 Doubles, 3 Triples, 5 Homers, 45 RBIs (7th), 41 Runs, a .594 On Base % (9th), and a .830 Slugging % (9th). Not to be out done though is their pitchers. Look for them to use Jarret Quinn (7-1, 2.23 ERA, 8.38 K/9) and Michael Miles (6-0, 1.94 ERA, 11.66 K/9).

After being the Team of the Week last week Northampton comes into this series hot. Winning 16 of their last 18 with those 2 losses being to 2018 Div. 1 World Series team Monroe and Div. 2 power Mercer. Not to be out done Northampton is an offensive machine. They are currently Rank in the Top 10 in Hits (7th) and are ranked in the Top 5 in Total Bases (4th), Extra Base Hits (4th), RBI’s (3rd), Triples (2nd), Runs (2nd), Home Runs (1st), and Slugging % (1st). Leading them this season so far has been the trio of CJ Gantz (East Stroudsburg), CJ Peechatka (Campbell), and Tommy Dunleavy (East Stroudsburg). Gantz is leading the team with a .455 average with 7 double, 2 triples, 2 home runs, 22 RBI’s, 46 Runs (105h), and 50 Hits (11th). Peechatka is hitting .434 with 7 doubles, 5 Triples (5th), 11 Home Runs (1st), 50 RBI’s (3rd), and 48 Runs (5th), Finishing out the Trio is Dunleavy. He is currently hitting .438 with 14 doubles (8th), 5 Triples (4th), 9 Home Runs (4th), 41 RBIs (11th), and 47 Runs (7th). On the mound this weekend look for them to use Noah Weber (6-0, 3 Complete Games (8th), 2 Shutouts (1st), .83 ERA (2nd), 6.85 K/9) (St. Joseph’s), and Alex Super (5-0, 2 Complete Games, 1 Shutout, 2.67 ERA, 10.98 K/9)(IUP).
